ClauDoula’s Pillars of Care
My philosophy and core pillars of the personalized care I provide my mama clients is based on the three things I believe will help you achieve the best possible birthing experience and outcome:
Education
-
Physiology and hormones of birth
-
Preparing for birth
Mind and body
-
The power of the mind
-
Creating balance & space with movement
Your power
-
Empowering yourself to make choices
What I Provide
My mission is to provide compassionate and non-judgmental emotional, physical, and mental support, evidence-based information, and advocacy to mamas-to-be so they can have an optimal birthing and postpartum experience.
Knowledge
Knowledge is power. I provide all the information you need to make informed choices that will lead to your desired birth outcome.
Nothing will be as effective to reduce stress, keep fears at bay and stay focused on positive outcomes than understanding your body, its power and how to move it and nurture it during labor.
Labor Support
Research shows that doula support impacts your child's journey into this world. Mamas who receive strong support during labor and delivery tend to have shorter births, tend to control their "pain" better and tend to have less need for medical interventions.
I provide all the support mama needs physically and emotionally - comfort measures, breathing exercises, movement, and mindfulness - to achieve just that.
Postpartum Support
It's so important to facilitate bonding between mama and baby and nurture the postpartum period for both of their overall future health and well-being.
My focus is always to ensure this happens right after birth through immediate skin-to-skin contact and breastfeeding (if desired). Lactation support and postpartum care is an important key for mama and baby's overall well-being.

Why ClauDoula?
Seven pregnancies, five late-term losses, two successful births, two children.
My personal birthing journey was not easy and it would’ve made a world of difference if I would have had the support of a doula during my pregnancies, during my labor & delivery, during my losses, and during the trying times in between.
-
With the knowledge of a doula during my pregnancies, I would have learned how to trust my body and understand the power it holds to naturally and purposefully have the birth that I wanted.
-
With the experience of a doula during my labor & delivery, I would have felt supported and calmer knowing someone had my back.
-
With the compassion of a doula during my losses, I would have had someone to help me process the enormity of what was happening to better heal emotionally and physically.
-
With the empathy and support of a doula during the trying times in between, I would have found the strength to face my fears with dignity and power and prepare myself for what was to come.
All of this matters.
I have focused my training on empowering women with research-based information and an understanding of the birthing process. As a certified Body Ready Method® Pro, I work with mamas-to-be who want a professional by their side that can suggest positions and perform hands-on techniques to create balance and space in the birthing body to support the physiological process of birth.
It doesn’t matter if it’s in a hospital, in your home, in a bathtub, if it’s vaginal, medicated, unmedicated or a C-section.
Having me as your doula providing emotional, educational, physical, partner and advocacy support throughout the pregnancy, labor and postpartum stages of becoming a mama makes all the difference in the world.
I see each birth as a unique miracle. If you read my story you'll understand why.
My purpose is to provide mamas with non-judgmental emotional, physical, educational, partner and advocacy support during pregnancy, labor & delivery and the postpartum period. Please get in touch to set up an initial consultation. I look forward to supporting you.
